So we're well into December now, getting closer to Christmas. I'm sure back home all of the shops, and town centres are littered with decorations reminding you about how close Christmas is! Well over here, things haven't really changed. In fact, a number of friends watched a film tonight, Love Actually. I asked why we were watching it, as it's more of a Christmas film, and then realised that it is Christmas. The Ethiopian celebration of Christmas happens about a week into January. Most holidays and calendar dates fall a little later than they do back home, which means that we get to celebrate them twice here. Anyway, the living room at the SIM guest house here has been decorated and a Christmas tree has been put up, so I can go there if I want to feel festive :-)
I've managed to purchase my motorbike! One of the SIM assistants here helped me go about it, and took me to the dealership to get it, it has a small 125cc engine which will hopefully be super cheap to run. I have to wait for a few more days though, as it is a new bike and needs a registration and licence plate. Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be up and running.
Language school is going well, I'm really enjoying having a new class. It feels more like everyone now is on the same level, and no one is holding the class back any more. This new teacher is doing a lot more grammar with us too, which is really useful for general conversation. But I am realising how difficult this language can get, so many of the verbs are quite short with only one letter different to make them a completely different meaning. Oh well, practice makes perfect!!
I've finished my December prayer letter, you can download it here.

All for now,
