So September came and went, and now the end of October is fast approaching. September was a really busy month, a week in Wales with my family was a great and relaxing start to the month, but then into a fairly large amount of speaking and deputation work. I've spoken at about 12 events over the last number of weeks, all over the country. It was wonderful to be able to share about my upcoming work in Ethiopia and God's call on my life with so many people, but so many engagements in such a short space of time was pretty tiring! However, I am so thankful to have met so many kind and supportive people on my travels, it has been such an encouragement. As I start to come close to a date of departure, it is a comfort to think of the number of people who will be praying for me!
I am so thankful to God that all my needed support has been raised, and I have been given the go ahead to leave for Ethiopia. It is such a testament to his goodness and provision to see how my funding requirement has been raised. I am so grateful to everyone who has supported me financially, thank you so much. Please join me in thanking God for this wonderful answer to prayer.
I'm hoping to leave for Ethiopia around the 17th November. I have organised to start a language course about that time. I hope to book a flight shortly, so I'll have a definite date in a few days. The next couple of weeks will involve a lot of sorting, organising and applying for visas and other official documents. Please continue to remember me at this time, the next couple of weeks will be very busy!!
Last week I was over at SIM HQ in Wetheringsett, England for a couple of days of orientation. I've got to know the SIM staff at the SIM HQ so well over the last few years, so it was enjoyable to be back with them, this time very close to my departure date. Also good to catch up with some other people about to leave on missionary service around various parts of the world!
I'll make sure to send one last formal prayer letter in November before I leave.
Niall
